Real-Time Adaptive Audio System for Assembly House Project in Central and Western Jutland
The Assembly House project in central and western Jutland features four community centers that blend folk, art, and nature, designed for outdoor gatherings in natural settings like forests, heaths, and dunes. Each center incorporates traditional elements such as a handshake area, flagpole, lectern, and benches.
Jeremy Marozeau and his DTU team were tasked with designing the sound reproduction system and music generative platform for this project. Collaborating with master student Eirini Liapikou, they created an audio system that uses waterproof speakers integrated into the platform's sides for mid to high frequencies, and a shaker under the floor to produce low frequencies, effectively turning the platform into a large loudspeaker. The music, composed by Lars Bech Pilgaard and Mathias Winther Kjeldsen, is dynamically modulated to match local weather conditions in real-time via signal processing on a local raspberry pi.
