Music for Cochlear Implant

In 2012, a concert was held in Melbourne featuring six ten-minute pieces composed specifically around the perceptual limitations of cochlear implant sound processors.

The project brought composers, scientists and cochlear implant listeners together to explore a different question: rather than adapting the listener to existing music, what happens when music itself is composed for the listener?

The concert took place at the Fairfax Studio at Arts Centre Melbourne and combined live instruments, prerecorded sound and multimedia approaches.
