The project
A living sonic environment: open enough for encounters, precise enough to keep its own identity.
Plante Interdite is a Geneva-based duo formed by drummer Guy Schneider and double bassist Jeremy Marozeau. The project began in 2024 from a shared fascination with free improvisation, immersive atmospheres and the search for new forms of dialogue through sound.
The music moves between percussive minimalism, spectral textures, grainy electro-acoustic timbres, hypnotic grooves and cinematic melodies. Rather than treating a piece as a closed form, the duo builds a sonic environment that can shift, breathe and change direction in real time.
Guests are part of the concept. A cello, saxophone, flute, foley or another local voice can enter the music and reshape it, making every concert a different ecosystem.
The name is a playful homage to Forbidden Planet (1956) and the pioneering electronic soundtrack of Louis and Bebe Barron. Turning “planet” into “plante” roots that science-fiction imaginary in something organic: a project that grows and transforms with every encounter.

Arrival
Recorded live in Gatillon in the mountains near Geneva, with later overdubs by Juliette Huber on cello and Marquis' McGee on saxophone, flute and foley. The core duo is Jeremy Marozeau on double bass and Guy Schneider on drums, production and effects.
The title refers to Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival: science fiction approached through communication rather than conflict — an idea close to the band’s own use of improvisation as a language created together.
